No departing tears of leaving, time does not afford the chance.
So for those who still remaining there will be no backward glance.
Just a moment, but a heartbeat, in the twinkling of an eye,
Earths unwanted fly unhindered through a bright and cloudless sky.
Not because of any virtue, but for just one simple choice,
I, when those around are clueless, hear His loud yet tender voice,
And with movement swift and silent, earth bound body off ward cast,
Wing my flight to realms of glory led by angels calling blast.
Bodies furnished, fit for heaven, from all earthly ailments free.
Lame with wings of graceful motion, blind with undimmed eyes to see.
Dead in Christ are stirred to waken, graves return their borrowed prize,
And the dreams of peaceful slumber are surpassed before their eyes.
Then what blesse`d reuniting and that longed for warm embrace
When departed precious loved ones meet in glory face to face.
On such scenes of joy and splendour, could our hearts forever dwell,
And the glory there surrounding, words can neer suffice to tell.
But all hearts are drawn with wonder and all eyes with movement trace
When the glory of His person, veils the glory of that place.
For a Man in godly order in the midst of heaven stands,
Bids to draw us closer to Him, stretches forth His pierce`d hands.
Face so warm and voice so tender, head with radiant glory crowned,
Eyes which beam with joyful pleasure for His precious treasure found.
Then that countless congregation with unfaltering voices sing
To the Man in glory seated, Friend and Master, Saviour, King.
O what glorious expectation daily listening watching for
Just a sign of His returning, for His footfall on the door,
For the clouds to burst asunder, for that scene beyond compare
When He takes His people homeward, when He meets us in the air.
